Children First (CF) is an NGO established to work for the protection, promotion and enjoyment of children’s human rights. In order to eliminate all forms of discrimination, the Children First Forum uses advocacy as an instrument. Children First works to protect and promote rights of the marginalized and excluded children specially focusing on urban and semi-urban areas.

Children First was established by an enthusiastic group of young professional who have just finished their University and are interested and dedicated to work for the cause of children who ar deprived of their basic rights such as education, health and protection. The members of the CF come from diverse family and community background who have experienced the pain of deprivation and discrimination in the community.

CF is registered with Chief District Office (CDO) a government authority that provides certification of the registration and it is also affiliated with Social Welfare Council, Government of Nepal who is a national coordination body of the non-governmental organizations in Nepal. It an non-profit making, non-particition, non-political organization devoted to promotion of the rights and welfare of the children especially in the urban and semi-urban areas of Nepal.

The CF will be focusing its programme activities in the urban and semi-urban areas, it will expand its programme coverage to all over Nepal as per need and availability of the resources. It will work with national and international organizations on different issues that are relevant and appropriate to the objective of the organization. It will also work as an platform for those volunteers and contributors who are interested to work for and with children that are excluded and marginalized, the organization will facilitate their work in consultation with relevant government and other authorities.
